Ultra-Low Temperature Bearings
Cryogenic bearings are specially designed with advanced materials and optimized structures to reduce friction, minimize heat generation, and maintain stable low-temperature operation during long-term service. Designed for ultra-low-temperature environments below –60°C, these bearings help extend service life and improve overall performance under extreme operating conditions.
Features
Ultra-Low Temperature Bearings Features
Cryogenic bearings are widely used in LNG cryogenic equipment, such as LNG submerged pumps and other low-temperature rotating systems. The commonly used bearing types include deep groove ball bearings and angular contact ball bearings, manufactured according to international standard dimensions.
In cryogenic applications, bearings often operate without conventional lubricants, relying on the pumped medium for lubrication. This creates extremely demanding operating conditions, requiring excellent material performance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and long service life.
Advanced Materials and Design
- Bearing rings:Manufactured from stainless steel materials such as G95Cr18 and G102CrMo, or advanced imported high-nitrogen stainless steels including Cronidur® 30 (X30CrMoN15-2) and X.D15N.W (X40CrMoVN16-2).
- Rolling elements:Available with stainless steel, silicon nitride (Si₃N₄) ceramic balls, or zirconia (ZrO₂) ceramic balls.
- Cages:Designed with self-lubricating, wear-resistant, and low-temperature-resistant non-metallic materials.
Hybrid ceramic ball bearings provide excellent performance in extreme environments, including:
- Strong corrosion environments and corrosive media applications.
- Medium-lubricated applications, such as water-lubricated systems, liquid hydrogen, and liquid oxygen environments.
- Lubricant-free or dry-running applications.
- Ultra-low operating temperatures with stable performance.
- Non-magnetic applications, with electrical conductivity or insulation achievable through different coatings.
